Ministry Team Development: Our Training Philosophy

What if support-raising wasn't just about funding, but about building a team around God's mission? Learn how our Ministry Team Development philosophy equips ministry workers and strengthens ministries.

Why We Exist

We are passionate about making more ministry happen, not by creating our own path for others to follow, but by coming alongside the vision of other ministries and nonprofits.

We believe ministry is meant to be shared and strengthened through partnership, where people are actively involved in what God is doing.

We do this in two primary ways:

  • We train and coach ministry workers in MTD, helping them build sustainable teams of prayer and financial partners.
  • We employ and provide benefits for ministry workers serving with Christian ministries and nonprofits.
Through both expressions, we help remove barriers for those in ministry so they can focus on their mission.

What Is Ministry Team Development?

At its core, MTD is about building a ministry team. We help ministry workers invite others into what God is doing and develop lasting partnerships that sustain ministry over time. Our goal is to meet people where they are and help them take faithful next steps.

God’s Mission First

We believe MTD is ministry. Every conversation becomes an opportunity to share vision and invite participation in something bigger than ourselves.

Rather than relying on a few large donors or organizational funding, MTD creates teams of partners who support ministry workers. The goal is not simply funding, but partnership.

God Shapes People Through the Process

No two people experience MTD the same way. Each person brings different backgrounds and personalities into the process. Because of this, we do not use a one-size-fits-all approach.

We provide tools that can be adapted to each individual's context and calling. Support-raising is often formative, and we see this as part of the work God does through the process.

An Interactive Learning Experience

People grow most when they actively participate in the learning process. Because of this, our training is designed to be highly participatory, combining self-paced preparation with live sessions that focus on real-time practice.

We prioritize engagement over information transfer. Rather than simply communicating information, we create space for learners to process, practice, and apply what they are learning in real ministry contexts.

Complex ideas are broken into practical steps that can be immediately applied, helping participants build both understanding and confidence at the same time.

Various Training Options

Our live training environment is intentionally structured. Each session includes a lead trainer who guides the group, along with breakout rooms of two to three participants. These smaller spaces allow individuals to actively practice sharing their own ministry vision with support and feedback from trainers.

In addition, we provide frequent training throughout the year, allowing people to join when they are ready rather than waiting for a single fixed intake season. This creates flexibility and responsiveness to the timing of each individual’s readiness.

We also provide flexibility through our asynchronous training pathway. This option is for those who are unable to attend live virtual group sessions, ensuring they can still engage fully in the material while moving at a pace that fits their context.

What Success Looks Like

Success is not solely measured by understanding the process or reaching a financial goal.

For the Ministry

Success is seen in the development of healthy, sustainable teams of partners who share the mission through prayer and financial support.

For the Ministry Worker

Success is seen in growing trust in God's provision and a willingness to invite others into what God is doing.

For Reliant

Success is seen in faithfully serving ministries by removing barriers and equipping workers effectively.

A Shared Ministry Philosophy

We believe MTD reflects a biblical pattern of shared ministry, in which the work of the gospel is carried forward by communities rather than by individuals alone.

As Scripture reminds us, "I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now" (Philippians 1:3–5).

Our desire is not simply to send people into support-raising, but to send them into ministry with a team already forming around them.

We want to see ministries and ministry workers strengthened and partners actively engaged through shared participation in the work God is doing around the world
